Boo Theatre is a small, growing theatre production company whose ethos is to bring accessible and affordable entertainment to all children.
Through the magic of timeless stories, we bring joy, laughter and education to children (and more often than not, to their parents too!).
We are based in Manchester and regularly perform at a number of venues in and around Greater Manchester.
So.. what makes Boo Theatre so special? Here they are!
Meet the Team
Beth
Beth is a 2015 graduate of Manchester School of Theatre and since graduating has toured numerous plays and pantomimes for theatre in education companies, visiting schools across the country. She is really passionate about bringing affordable theatre to the local community and can’t wait to spread some panto silliness in 2019!
Lucy
Lucy graduated from The University of Manchester in 2014 and has since worked a variety of freelance creative acting, directing and producing jobs, alongside numerous roles in education. Education roles include mentoring, self-development programme delivery, faciliation of drama workshops and clubs for children with additional needs. Lucy loves puppets and silliness, and is passionately committed to sharing the magic of storytelling across diverse communities. She loves all the puppets but does have a soft-spot for the naughty fairies.
Mark
Mark has very little acting experience. When he was 10 years old he portrayed Steve Irwin hunting crocodiles. It never received the expected critical acclaim. He is, however, pretty handy with computers, and handles anything tech-related. As long as we keep him well away from the stage, we should be fine.
Ed
Ed is a professional actor from nearby Birmingham. He is a graduate of the University of Birmingham and The Shakespeare Institute. When being unempl- uh… he means not acting, he works as a children’s party entertainer. When he was young, he wanted to be the next James Bond. Not an actor in the films, literally just James Bond.
Katie
Katie is our resident Princess, and has helped make our shows extra special by making appearances as Princess Elsa! Originally from down south Katie is a trained actor dancer and singer with a degree in acting from the Manchester School of Theatre. She has worked as a party leader at Build a Bear workshop, Play factore, and professional credits include a variety of plays and musicals for young children.
